WILHELMSHAVEN. The Wilhelmshavener Hafenwirtschafts-Vereinigung (WHV e.V.) has initiated a petition to secure the functionality of the sea lock known as the “4th Entrance” and has now submitted it to the Federal Ministry of Defence.

OLDENBURG. With an increase of 9% to a total cargo handling volume of just under 60.5 million tonnes in maritime traffic in 2025 (55.5 million tonnes in 2024), the nine seaports in Lower Saxony remain on a growth trajectory.

At the construction site of berths 5 to 7 in the port of Cuxhaven, Minister-President Olaf Lies, together with representatives from business, politics, and port operations, gathered information about the progress of the port expansion and the role of the location in the energy transition.
